Dan Tri News, in their first article about artist Le Trang, on the occasion of her honor to unveil two paintings, Dreamy Lady (2023) and The Garden of Love (2024), at the prestigious international exhibition at Saatchi Gallery from September 17-19, 2024, has told the story of Le Trang’s “endless canvas”.
“When I painted this piece (Dreamy Lady), I initially thought it was finished, but after some contemplation, I wanted to make adjustments on the canvas. That’s why this painting has six layers of paint, more than the others. About three months ago, I picked up the brush for the third time to make further adjustments until I was satisfied and confident. The beauty of oil painting is that you can freely complete the piece at any time.”
With these ‘endless canvases,’ Le Trang can return to the story, continue, reprint, and edit as if writing a book.
In the interview with Dan Tri News, artist Le Trang also shared her personal emotional state when she stands before the canvas and begins to paint. According to Lê Trang, she only paints in the embrace of tranquility and when she is truly at peace, so her works always convey positive meaning. She also believes that for an artist, the ability to let go and accept the unknown is extremely important. By overcoming fear, the artist uses the brush to experiment and explore new territories and shades.
