DREAMY LADY: RESILIENCE BEHIND FRAGILITY

On September 19, reporter Ho Lam of Tuoi Tre Online News wrote an article about two paintings by artist Le Trang participating in the exhibition at Saatchi Gallery Art Museun. She described these paintings as “resilience behind fragility.”

Ho Lam’s article also mentioned the person who inspired and “brought” Lê Trang back to her unfinished childhood dream of painting. This person, who has greatly influenced Le Trang’s style, is the legendary artist Claude Monet.

Artist Le Trang shared with Tuoi Tre Online News: “Perhaps the dream of becoming an artist would have been ‘lost’ along with my sketchbook after the devastating flood in Hue in 1999, if I had not been fortunate enough to read books about Claude Monet. His paintings have stayed with me for a very long time. It can be said that he was my first teacher, the one who inspired me to start painting again, and the person who has influenced my art the most.”

In this conversation with Tuoi Tre Online News, artist Lê Trang also mentioned that she started painting again three years ago, as if to “make amends” for the youthful years that missed an important piece of her life.
