As the first article introducing the special imprint of artist Le Trang when participating in prestigious international exhibitions in the UK and Italy, just three years after she started painting, “The Fruitful Journey of a Dreamy Lady” provides a comprehensive and detailed portrayal of artist Le Trang and the artworks from her four collections displayed in her solo exhibition at Park Hyatt Saigon.
Although internationally recognised as an artist, Le Trang humbly reminds the writer (journalist Quynh Anh) that she is merely a “painting author.”
Trang is not originally from an art background. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from RMIT International University and has held many important positions in large corporations. Three years ago, influenced by the renowned artist Claude Monet, one of the founding masters of Impressionism, Trang began her journey to turn the dream of a five-year-old girl, who scribbled innocent drawings in small notebooks, into reality. Like many other women, she also has to juggle the responsibilities of both a “businesswoman” and a “homemaker” in a harmonious three-generation family.
From September 17-19, at the famous Saatchi Gallery in London, Le Trang was the only representative from Vietnam invited to unveil two large paintings: Dreamy Lady (2023) and The Garden of Love (2024). She was also the only artist from Vietnam to leave her mark at the Let Us Hear HER VOICE exhibition held at Isolart Gallery in Florence, Italy, just half a month later (October 5-9), with the exquisitely coloured painting Home on the Pond (2023).
With information cited from the book, the article also shares additional stories and emotions behind Le Trang’s paintings, especially Dreamy Lady. As it can be said, this painting subtly reflects the image of the author, female artist Le Trang, both in appearance and temperament.
